Guidelines for Recruiters
Note: All dates are tentative and are subject to change however all organizations concerned will be informed in advance and are requested to look for updates on the official placement cell website.
- The campus recruitment activity for the M.A. Education (Elementary) (MAEE) programme is undertaken by the Placement Cell constituted by the faculty convener and the student coordinators.
- Organizations wishing to recruit MAEE Students from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) will have to communicate their interest for the same, either by mailing by post or by email expressing interest to the placement coordinators latest by 15th April, 2014. The following details are to be provided, so as to help us allocate the slots accordingly - a) Job profile being offered; b) Remuneration and incentives; c) Geographical location and mobility, and, d) Number of positions offered
- Going with the usual practice, the organizations wishing to recruit MAEE students from TISS will be expected to give a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) to the students. The PPTs will be arranged starting from 14th May 2015. The preferred dates for the pre-placement talks should be communicated by email to the placement coordinators before 3rd May, 2015.
- The placement period will begin from the 14th of May 2015.
- The organizations are requested to inform the placement coordinators the probable nature of the selection tests and the tentative time duration that would be required to conduct the whole process.
- If possible kindly also give us the information on the recruitment team that would be visiting our institute. (Number and Composition)
- The procedure for allocating slots for prospective recruiters during the placement process will be in accordance with ranking criteria set by the coordinators.
- Recruiting Organizations are requested not to short list candidates based on the information provided in the profiles of the students.
- Off-campus placement through video-conferencing and other web-telephonic media will also be facilitated by the Placement Cell for those organizations that may not be in a position to visit the campus. Off-campus placement will also take place during the campus placement week.
- In the Personal Interview, the Recruiting Organization is requested not to ask questions regarding the candidate’s social and economic background. In case of any complaint from the candidate’s appearing for the interview, the Placement Cell is at liberty to intervene.
- Selection of final list of students is to be confirmed in writing within two hours of finishing the selection process.
- All organizations are requested to prepare a waiting list, in addition to the list of students selected for recruitment, at the end of the selection process.
- Written confirmation of an offer will be given by selected candidates within 24 hours of written communication of the offer from the organization.
- Any communication regarding the placements should be made only with the student placement coordinators.
