Guidelines
- Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) of an organization will be compulsory for those students who have registered for that particular organization. Attendance sheet will be available at the entrance of the PPT room for signature by the students. Students who have not registered for that particular organization are also encouraged to attend the PPT.
- In case a student, who has not registered for a particular organization but has registered for the placement process, desires to sit for that organization post PPT, s/he shall approach the Placement Cell member and convey the same with multiple copies of his/her resume.
- In case of an emergency, students’ may be exempted from attending PPT. However, they cannot appear for the interview of the organization for which they have missed the PPT.
- If a student, due to certain circumstances, is unable to attend the PPT for an organization he/she has registered for, it shall be the students’ responsibility to inform the Placement Cell about the same to be able to sit for the interview. Placement Cell has the final discretion on what matters to be considered genuine and what not.
- Students will not be allowed to sit for the interview of the organization whose PPT they have missed and if s/he misses three PPTs continuously of different organizations, s/he will be considered out of the placement process and no request for a refund of the placement cell registration fee will be entertained.
- Once a student has registered for a particular organization, his/her Resume will be automatically forwarded to that organization. Hence, s/he cannot withdraw from the placement process. In case a candidate wants to withdraw from the process, s/he should approach a placement cell member for the same.
- If a student realizes, sometime during the process, that s/he does not want to be recruited for that particular organization, s/he must make it very clear without any ambiguity to the placement cell member, allowing the recruiter to select other students or students from the waiting list. S/he should ensure that his/her name does not appear on the final/selected list. The student concerned must inform the placement cell.
- Once a student's name appears in the final list of candidates selected by an organization, that student will be considered out of the placement process and would not be allowed to sit for any further organizations. In case a candidate gets selected on the same day for more than one organization, s/he will have the choice to accept the offer s/he desires. In case a candidate gets selected for more than one organization on subsequent days, due to a long process or delay in results, the candidate will have to accept the offer declared earlier.
- Once a student has been selected for an organization through the campus interview through the Placement Cell, s/he will not be eligible to sit for any further placement sessions in the subsequent years and his/her name will struck off from the placement cell rolls.
- All announcements regarding placement cell activities will be communicated through email/placement cell website. The students are requested to check the same at regular intervals. Also, during the placement week, students are requested to check the Placement Cell notice board more often.
- Any concern regarding the placement process can be shared with the Placement Cell via email only (This is being done to ensure a formal communication channel).
- Students have to submit their resumes only in the format sent by the Placement Cell. In case a recruiter asks for a tailor made resume, such information will be communicated to the registered members.
- Registering for the Placement Cell or Placement Week does not guarantee placement. Placement Cell will provide any support required in facilitating the placement process for the students.
- Students who have not registered for the placement cell and the placement week are excluded from the process. Their concerns and issues regarding the process shall not be officially entertained.
- All the above rules have been framed to ensure the smooth functioning of the placement cell and the placement process, and thereby the Placement Cell is empowered to enforce all the above rules. The Placement Cell will function under the guidance of the Faculty Convener.
Guidelines
- All students are expected to be on time for the PPTs.
- Students are requested not to ask any questions, especially regarding salary/remuneration, during the PPT. If candidates have any queries/doubts/questions, they will only be entertained after the PPT.
- Tentatively, placement week will be organized between 14th-21st May, 2015.
- Students are expected to maintain discipline and show ethical behavior in every action they take during the placement process.
- Resume format will be made available by the placement cell and students are expected to follow the same.
- Candidates are expected to appear for interviews in formal attire.
