Member of team for developing a bilingual (Hindi and English) program in a multilingual urban context
Location - Bhopal
Pay-band - 18,000 to 23,000
The program seeks to understand the multilingual urban school context due to migration into different pockets of the city. The languages range from scheduled languages like Hindi, Marathi, Telugu to regional languages like Bundeli, Bagheli, Nimari to tribal languages like Gondi and Pardhi.
On the basis of this understanding, and an understanding of multilingual and multicultural pedagogies, we sould attempt to develop a pedagogy in the classroom that uses children’s and community repertoire and varied literature to enhance language and thinking abilities.
A senior resource group of linguists and educationists is guiding this whole process.
As part of the team you will be expected to –
What are we looking for –
A passion for language, literature and reading;
A deep commitment to multiculturalism, plurality and equity;
An ability to plan and multitask;
An ability to work in a team and sort out work issues professionally;
A fluency in English and Hindi at the reading writing high comprehension level.
A readiness to meet deadlines with extra work where necessary.
A good facility with computers – typing, data entry and analysis.

- Collect, read and summarize (preferably in Hindi) research on issues related to the project under the guidance of the resource group.
- Plan field work with team members and execute responsibilities as per plan (there is a team of two people in the project at present and a part time coordinator)
