The selected candidate will work under Education Specialist, UN Agency and advocate and support the development of norms and standards for implementation of various aspects of RTE addressing issues of equity and inclusion in the planning and delivery of elementary education in the state. The Consultant would be expected to engage with SSA, MSCERT, and RMSA at both the state and district levels and support the conceptualization of strategies, coordination of activities, drafting of documents, and support to field level implementation and monitoring.
Major Tasks:
- Support to ensuring out-of school are identified, and children are enrolled in school.
- Technical support to strengthening implementation of Meena Raju Manch and other gender activities in the state.
- Technical support to strengthening KGBVs in the state; Inputs for KGBVs designed and implemented in 43 KGBVs in the state.
- Inputs into donor reports and other UN Agency documentation.
- Inputs to SSA, MSCERT, RMSA and select districts for improving the quality of education in context of equity and inclusive programming.
Qualification and Experience:
- Postgraduate degree in Education/Social Sciences/Management/ Social work.
- At least 5-10 years’ of experience in managing education programmes and providing technical support to Govt. bodies, NGOs and/or community groups.
- Specific experience in working with programmes promoting education of girls, and addressing equity desirable.
- Ability to write crisply and communicate effectively.
Contract Duration and Appointment: The duration of the contract will be initially upto December 2014 which may be extended on satisfactory performance and project requirements. The Consultant will be placed in Mumbai; Maharashtra. Travel will be within Mumbai and other cities in Maharashtra and India as required. The professional fees depends on qualification, professional expertise and experience in the relevant field. Additional support costs for travel, communications, insurance and contingencies.
